A CWE#25 Challenge B – As Scene on TV

Modern Family, Season 1, Episode 15

Helen Belden walked into the bedroom from the master bath, surprised to find her husband waiting for her. It was past the time for him to have been downstairs, awaiting his breakfast before leaving for his job at the Sleepyside Bank.

“Happy Valentine's Day, darling.” Peter dropped a chaste kiss on her forehead and handed her a card. Another year and another Valentine’s Day. The thought fleetingly passed through her mind, and she wondered if he would give her the same sentimental card he’d given her before. It had happened, after all. More than once.

She opened it and smiled as she read the brief message. This year he’d gone with a kids-styled card. “Oh, Happy Valentine's Day. Aw.” The cutesy message intended for kids was still a sweet sentiment, although completely G-rated. She managed to innocently hand him the card she’d purchased for him. This one was as opposite from his card as it could be. She’d purchased it online from Good Vibrations. She was certain Peter had no idea she had an account at an adult pleasure store.

His eyes widened as he read the teasing punch line, probably for the second time before he blinked and went, “Ohh!” He cleared this throat. “Mwah,” he managed a cough before continuing.

“Now that’s an interesting idea, dear. You’ll have tell me more when we have more time, perhaps the next time all the kids are away from the house.”

Helen didn’t voice her frustration over Peter’s reluctance to engage in amorous undertakings when their house was full of kids. The man wouldn’t get that sometimes she had needs. Needs that she looked to him to fulfill. Noting the time on the clock, she would save that discussion for later in the evening.

“So, Fratelli's tonight?”she asked.

“Yes, we have a reservation, and you know Fratelli’s will be full up. We will be ready for dinner and then for dessert it will be hello, cannoli canoe.”

“Of course, dear,” she replied, secretly wishing that dessert would be more along the lines of well hello, naked husband.
